Musicales: west side story

Es uno de los musicales mas famosos del cine , ganó 10 oscars de la academia.Del año 1961 y basada en la obra de Romeo y julieta.
En el West Side de Nueva York se disputan la hegemonía dos bandas de jóvenes: los sharks, todos ellos procedentes de Puerto Rico, y los jets, de ascendencia anglosajona. Estos últimos están comandados por Riff, una vez que Tony abandonó la pandilla para llevar una vida normal y poder trabajar. Por otra parte, Bernardo, que es el jefe de los puertorriqueños, convive con su hermana, María, recién llegada de la isla. una noche, en un baile, coinciden los dos grupos y están a punto de provocar una violenta pelea, y cuando Tony y Maria se enamoran.

"Do you love me", tema de los contours , grupo musical de soul y R&B de los años sesenta. Cancion de exito en 1962 y tambien en 1987 incluida en la banda sonora de Dirty dancing.

Hoy leyendo un blog me han recordado a uno de mis idolos de mi adolescencia, Rick Ashley ,si vale era un poco ñoño, pero me encantaba ,que le voy a hacer. Aunque tiene canciones muy exitosas ,he buscado una de mis favoritas , no es una de las mas conocidas , del año 1987.

Años 80: Total eclipse of the heart

Para inaugurar este blog y esta seccion dedicada a los años 80 he elegido a Bonnie tyler con Total Eclipse of the heart .
Single del disco ""Faster Than the Speed of Night"de 1982 disco que se convirtió en número uno en todo el mundo.
curiosidad: Bonnie Tyler se convirtió en la primera mujer en lograr que un álbum llegara directamente al primer lugar en el Reino Unido, con todo y récord Guinness.
“Total Eclipse of The Heart” le valió la nominación al Grammy como mejor cantante femenina y el disco al de mejor álbum, ambos premios fueron para ella.
